Station 338
Fire Station 338 was built to satisfy a recommendation set forth in the 2006 Standards of Coverage – a document that guides the District’s response standards. It is the District’s only two-story station (and yes, it does have two working fire poles – a favorite feature for many station visitors!). Station 338 primarily serves homes in the area as well as a high school, middle school, elementary school, and some commercial occupancies.
Station 338 also houses the North Battalion Chief Headquarters. The North Battalion Chief is a shift commander that oversees the operations of all the stations north of Ina Road within the District including Stations 334, 336, 337, 338 and 339. The Battalion Chief responds to and typically assumes command of major incidents including structure fires, rescue operations such as vehicle rollovers, and mass casualty incidents.
